ah, i've always wanted to post this ever since i heard it / read through the lyrics, but never got the chance to. ): post-exams affords me this luxury though, so yay. :D

haha the score of this came attached to 'if we hold on together' when we were praccing for speech day...i wonder if rgs used to sing this at formal events too, haha. the tune is, most weirdly, familiar, though i seriously have no idea where i could have heard it from. i mean, this was the theme song for the '92 barcelona olympics, and y'know, kinda impossible that i heard it then right? but i do love the tune haha, especially the semitone crawl down. :D plus, anything with spanish in it immediately scores points with me! hahaha. xD

ohwell, so anyway, here's a video of sarah brightman + jose carreras (!! !! !!) at the closing ceremony of the '92 olympics, plus lyrics after that, of course. :D actually, just listen to the music, that's what's awesome, haha. :D (andrew llyod webber again!) and and and, the high c at the end! i swoon i swoon i swoon haha. (:

lyrics lyrics lyrics! :D

Amigos Para Siempre (Friends for Life!)
I don't have to say a word to you
You seem to know whatever mood I'm going through
Feels as though I've known you forever

You can look into my eyes and see
The way I feel and how the world is treating me
Maybe I have known you forever

Amigos para siempre
Means you'll always be my friend
Amics per sempre
Means a love that cannot end
Friends for life not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

We share memories I won't forget
And we'll share more my friend, we haven't started yet
Something happens when we're together

When I look at you I wonder why
There has to come a time when we must say goodbye
I'm alive when we are together

Amigos para siempre
Means you'll always be my friend
Amics per sempre
Means a love that cannot end
Friends for life not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

I feel you near me even when we are apart
Just knowing you are in this world can warm my heart
Friends for life not just a summer or a spring
Amigos para siempre

hurhur i decided i was too lazy to type out the remaining bits, but they are just reprises of the verses anyway. :D okay granted, some bits are a bit O: but ohwell the chorus is just amazing. (: and haha, i love how everyone just got united by the music and showed so much one-ness despite hailing from altogether different nationalities, altogether different cultures and altogether different countries. it's fitting, this theme song. (: and obviously, the olympics spirit is awesome. :D

anyway yes, here's to all the most brilliant friends i have. (:

on a separate note, youtube has awesome choral gems. :D like matsushita conducting matsushita - and word game, no less! i love how they did the bero-bero bit, and i really love how they're so connected with the music; seriously, we ought to learn how to sing even more uninhibitedly (eeps, bad phrasing) and just enjoy ourselves a lot more. :D interesting repertoire too - leroy anderson's typewriter sounds familiar (i think mrs chua let us hear it once, just that i quite distinctly remember it wasn't choral), and it'd be really cool if we could do it haha! just not so sure about its feasibility. D: and finally, it would be really cool if we could go to austria / italy next year. -grins.

okay, that was one long ramble, oops. D: but hur, this is what post-eyas allow you to do, and i'm so making use of it haha. (: and yes, before i forget, ICYL ICYL way to go! :D

composed; 5:58 PM :D

lives, writes, sings, plays the piano, and attempts to sound intellectual at times (conclusion: fails rather miserably).

loves music (almost strictly classical, hurhur & inclusive of faziolis!), literature (& also the sciences - no they are not in conflict), making hopelessly lame puns, laughter, white/milk chocolate, cheesecake, the world & the people in it. list not exhaustive, by the way.

wants the world to be filled with peace, joy and love, and also wants (perhaps a little more selfishly) to be happy, plus lead a life of purpose. that would be more than enough. (:

oh, and she likes embarking on her own 'free hugs!' campaigns after exams and the like; not really sure why. D: (at any rate, you can tell that she's random enough.)

loves you!♥

very plain, she knows; but this is probably herself in its entirety - nothing more than a compilation of perhaps-boring-to-you little things (and the occasional Important Event), but also nothing less than all the brilliant memories which constitutes her life, and perhaps yours.

also interpreted as an inability to express with other things but words (nothing more, nothing less!), although even words sometimes won't do enough. but she does like orange.

v2.0 (230208): maybe solid grey isn't that fantastic after all. but wordy is good, all the same. she's weird, she knows.

ver. i-pretend-that-it-is-3.0-when-i-know-it-is-not (070608): i am boring, take that. (:

v4.0 (200908): got bored, so cut down on the quasi-fanciful stuff even more. perfectly plain now, though somehow the background still doesn't work on safari / google chrome. ):
